Pt. Vishnu Deo Memorial College, Saweni, Lautoka was established in 1972 and is dedicated to the memory of the local Indian statesman late Hon. Pt Vishnu Deo, OBE, ‘Janaratna’, MLC for his outstanding contributions to the work of Arya Samaj and the people of Fiji in general.

Initially it was known as Pt. Vishnu Deo Secondary School. The first Principal of the College was Mr. S Duggal. The College is one of the largest mainstream multiracial rural secondary schools in Fiji catering for Forms 3 to 7 and vocational programme. The College also boasts the magnificent multipurpose hall dedicated to Panditji.
